Broken records on kick/push scooters

Trans-US on kick scooter

In aid of the red cross, American record holder Daniel Nielsen crossed the USA using a push scooter in 21 days 9 hr 57 min. He started from San Diego, California on the 1st of November  2001 and reached Jekyl Island near Brunswick, Georgia, on November 22nd. He traveled a total distance of 3,827 km (2,378 mile) averaging 174 km (108 miles) a day, at a peak distance of 222 km (138 miles) on his first day.

Longest journey on a kick scooter

Kosuke Takizawa achieved the longest journey traveled by kick scooter: 7,100.7 km (4411 miles) from 1 July 2019 to 21 April 2020.

He made this attempt as part of ‘Samurai Japan Project’, starting his journey from Tomakomai, Hokkaido, Japan and reaching the finish line in Saga, Saga, Japan.

Largest parade of push scooters / kick scooters

The Lions Club of Shatin Hong Kong (Hong Kong) and Luofu Mountain (China) achieved the largest parade of kick scooters with a number of 802 push scooters. This record was held at Luofu Mountain in Huizhou, Guangdong, China, on 26 May 2019.

Most kick scooter back somersaults in one minute

At X Games 18 held in Los Angeles, California, USA, on 29 June 2012, the world record for most kick scooter backflips in 60 seconds was held by Dakota Schuetz (USA) with 12 backflips.

Most countries visited in 24 hours by kick scooter

On August 3rd 2019, Felix Frenzel visited the most countries in 24 hours by kick scooter which corresponds to 5.

He traveled a distance of approximately 162 km.

Most backflips on a kick scooter- single jump

This is another world record taking place at X Games 18 in Los Angeles, California, USA, on 29 June 2012.

Daniel Barrett (USA) achieved the most tailwhips on a kick scooter in one minute with 57 incredible backflips

Fastest 30 m on a scooter by a dog

Norman the Scooter Dog, owned by Karen Cobb (USA) achieved the fastest 30 meters on a kick scooter in 20.77 seconds at All Tournament Players Park, in Marietta, Georgia, USA, on 12 July 2013.

  • This record is for the longest distance to grind on a kick scooter.
  • This record is to be attempted by an individual.
  • This record is measured in metres and centimetres with the equivalent measurement given in feet and inches.
  • For the purposes of this record, a kick scooter grind is defined as, a kick scooter sliding sideways on a rail using only the middle of the scooter with the wheels not touching the ground.

Highest altitude reached by kick scooter

  • This record is for the highest altitude to which a kick scooter can be ridden.
  • This record is to be attempted by an individual.
  • This record is measured in metres with the equivalent imperial measurement given in feet.
  • For the purpose of this record a kick scooter is a human-powered vehicle consisting of a handlebar, deck and wheels propelled by a rider pushing off the ground.
